  2. Maria GRAVES, bap. 28 Mar 1830 (a twin?, same day as Hannah above), St Mary's, Long Sutton, Lincolnshire - d. 23 Apr 1901, Junction City, Kansas - m. 1853 to Henry DALTON
Children: Notes: Family immigrated to North America cicra 1857/58, first settling in Ohio before they returned to England for a short visit round 1862. They returned to Ohio for a short while upon their return, then they moved circa 1870 to Montana but were listed in the 1880 census in Lyon, Davis, Kansas. Henry was a Methodist Episcopal clergyman. This family is well documented on the net due to the achievements, in the building industry, of John Thomas Dalton, Henry & Maria's eldest son.

  7. John GRAVES, bap. 15 Nov 1841, Patrington, Yorkshire - d. after 1881 - m. abt 1859 to Mary Ann TENNISON
Children: Notes: Unusual family, when John appears in the 1861, as son-in-law of Neoforth(?) Tennison, Emmanuel, grandson aged 1, is called Tennison, in the 1880 census, Kansas he is Emmanuel Graves (so it's open to debate if John is his father). The family moved to North America sometime between 1862 & 1873. There is a large gap between the 2nd and 3rd surviving children of this couple; have they had a number of children who died? or were John & Mary seperated for a time while he 'checked- out' America?. George Crawford, son of John's sister, Hannah, is living with John in the 1880 census
