  Notes:
According to the 1851 census of Yatton , Somerset; Francis claims he was born in Yatton , though I have searched these records and have been unable to find his christening . The only 'Lyons' having children in Yatton at the time , was a William Lyons . William does not in fact appear to be Francis's father but there is a possibility that he was Francis's grandfather.
Francis married a Mary Probart/Perkins? . The record does not appear in Yatton. The only Francis Lyons who married in the area at that time , married in Purton, Wiltshire on the 19 Aug 1823 to a Mary Ann Probarts (if this is indeed the correct marriage, Mary must have been at least 4 months pregnant with Thomas Francis). To add weight to Probart being Mary's surname, a marriage took place on the 10.10.1822 at Yatton, George Young married Susannah Perkins, the witnesses were Francis Lyons & a Mary Ann Probarts/Proberts
As with Francis , Mary claims to have been born in Yatton . Once again there is no record of this , Mary should have been baptised in about 1794 , as she was slightly older than Francis.
At the time of the 1851 census , Francis was farming 30 acres at Yatton , his address is listed as 66 Poundfield , Yatton
In a book called 'The Somerset Years' , there is a picture of the churchwardens' accounts , showing Francis owned a shop and house , in the 1841 rates books
Francis received"-6-" , in 1844 , from the church , for conveying children to Nailsea for conformation.
1851 Francis was paid"-4-3, from the church, for gravel
1856 francis was paid by the church ' as per bill ' the sum of"-7-"
