Notes:It should be noted here, that this was also Mary Ann's third marriage.
In abt 1852 she had married a John DORGAN, who appears to have died in early 1853, just as Mary gave birth to their first child. The child John Dorgan (bap. 19 Mar 1853, Lanreath) married an Ellen and settled in Devonport, Devon where he worked as a seaman. John & Ellen had two known children and both John & Ellen were still alive in the 1901 census.
Mary Ann then married Joseph BASSETT in abt 1856 and had two known children by him Eliza J. (b. abt 1858, St Austell) and Joseph (bap. 10 Apr 1868, Lanreath). Joseph 'the husband' died in 1869. Eliza J. is living with her mother and new step-father in the 1881 census, though she is listed as just a 'lodger'. Young Joseph appears to be working as a farm labourer, for the West family, in Lanreath, in this census.
