Somerset Notes:
It appears the family may have moved to Ilminster or some place else , not long after 1794 . Arabella was christened in Ilminster Old Meeting in 1796
James/Jacob appears in the Broadway land and property books only three times , the first time was in 1791, when he was occupying a property in Broadway owned by William Standerwick . He was paying 8 shillings 4 pence in tax . Jacob remained in this same residence until 1794 , at which time he appears to have moved out of Broadway
James/Jacob and Sarah returned to christen four of their children, in the church in Broadway , on the 20 Apr. 1807
After that he does not appear in any of the parish records on this film until 1811, when he took over two of Jane Cleal's properties in Horton . ( Gooden's and Mattew's ) By 1814 he sold these properties to the Combe's but he continued to occupy them until 1826 , though half way through this period the occupier is listed as just J. Cleal
From 1829-1831 these properties are occupied by a John Cleal ( spelling mistake or a different person ?!! )
